Our Story
Fireplace Training Center was founded by Daniel Ortega, M.A., Doctoral Candidate in Transformational Leadership (expected 2026). A nonprofit leader, educator, and researcher, Daniel has dedicated his career to advancing access to higher education and building community-based learning systems that create lasting change.
With a Master's degree in Pastoral Studies and ongoing doctoral research focused on organizational leadership and educational equity, Daniel brings a rigorous, multidisciplinary approach to everything Fireplace Training Center does — bridging theory and real-world practice to develop scalable models for personal and professional growth. His work has helped hundreds of individuals from underserved backgrounds re-engage with education, build life skills, and move toward meaningful careers.
Together with his wife — and as dedicated homeschool educators to their four children — Daniel brings that same intentionality home. Their family learning environment is rooted in curiosity, discipline, and critical thinking, a philosophy that directly informs the programs offered through Fireplace Training Center.
What We Do
Fireplace Training Center operates as a nonprofit training center built around three core pillars:
Educational Pathways — Structured programs that guide individuals through academic progression, from foundational skills to workforce readiness and leadership development.
Mentorship & Life-Skills Training — Personalized support systems designed to build accountability, resilience, and the practical tools needed for long-term success.
Leadership Development — Courses and coaching grounded in transformational leadership principles, equipping individuals to lead with purpose in their communities and careers.

Homeschool Enrichment
Boxing Program
As part of their commitment to developing the whole person from an early age, Fireplace Training Center is now offering Boxing as a homeschool enrichment course in partnership with Larsen Lighthouse Enrichment Center (LLEC). Available for students in Kinder through 10th grade, this program goes far beyond sport — it builds discipline, self-confidence, focus, and physical fitness in a structured, values-driven environment.
